On February 16th we rigged a AHU ( Air Handing Unit) weighing 13,000lbs to the roof of the 1 Center Street in Manhattan. The building is actually owned by theNYC Dept of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).
We used a 600 Ton Crane with 454 foot of boom to hoist unit to the roof that was 350 ft high. To complete the job, we needed to close down Centre St. Traffic coming off of the Brooklyn Bridge was redirected around the job site.
We had the following people involved:
- AWL Industries
- STV (General Contractor))
- NYC DCAS
- We also needed to work closely with the MTA, NYC DOT and the NYC DOB
Here are some photos of the job.
